WELCOME TO MOVERONS GARDEN
A coastal jewel in North Essex
Moverons garden has been developed from an overgrown site in 1994 to the one you’ll discover today...
A very special and unique place hidden away and looking out over the River Colne Estuary. We have been developing the garden steadily over the intervening years and now have a garden full of variety and surprises. The differing planting aspects are fully exploited – hot sun and drought, dry and damp shade, bog and containers. Our planting is always informal – free flowing and generous with a mixture of shrubs and perennials.
Colour schemes range from a delightful mix of pastels and soft colours around the house, sizzling hot colours in front of the yew hedge to rich oranges and yellows in the redeveloped tennis court garden. Payne’s expanding range of metal sculptures are enhancing the garden and include a fisherman by the pond, a snake poised on an old stump and a working rocking horse made from old horseshoes that visitors are enchanted by. There are plenty of places to rest and many visitors spend time sitting and soaking up the tranquil atmosphere and watching the abundant wildlife both within and outside the garden.
